Privacy Policy

1. Who is responsible

2. Your JSON files never reach us

JSON Analyzer is a local-first desktop application. The files you open, edit, and export are read from and written to your own disk. We never receive, transmit, or store the contents of your files. The app has no account system and no telemetry, and does not phone home.

3. The one exception: the optional AI features

Two features ("ask in plain English" and "explain this JSON") are strictly opt-in and, if you use them, send data to Anthropic's API using an API key that you supply and that is stored in your macOS Keychain. Before anything is sent, the app shows you the exact request, which is a capped outline of your file's structure, and asks you to approve it. If you never enable these features, the app makes no network calls at all. Data sent this way is handled under Anthropic's own privacy policy; we do not receive or retain it.

4. Data we do process

• Billing data. When you buy Pro, our reseller and merchant of record, Paddle.com, collects your name, email, billing address, country, and payment details. Paddle processes payment data; we never see or store your card number. See Paddle's privacy policy.
• Purchase records. We store the Paddle customer ID, your email address, and the fact that you bought a Pro licence, so we can issue your licence key, re-send it if you lose it, and honour refunds.
• Support correspondence. If you email us, we keep that correspondence so we can answer you.

5. Why we process it, and on what basis

We process the data above to perform our contract with you (issuing the licence you paid for, and supporting you), and to meet our legal obligations (tax and accounting records). We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.

6. How long we keep it

We keep purchase records for as long as we are required to for tax and accounting purposes. Support correspondence is kept for up to two years.

7. Who we share it with

• Paddle.com — payment processing, invoicing, tax, and refunds, as merchant of record.
• Our hosting provider — the server that stores purchase records and sends licence emails.
• Anthropic — only if you opt in to the AI features, using your own API key, and only after you approve each request.

We do not share your data with anyone else.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object to it. To exercise any of these, email support@somil-and.com and we will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Cookies

This website sets no analytics or advertising cookies. Paddle's checkout sets the cookies it needs to process your payment and prevent fraud.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Material changes will be emailed to customers.
